Here, in this article, I won’t be elaborating on fatherhood, the importance of a father, the essence of a father, and so on.

My article will let you decide and feel what a father is to a child.

Fathers are no superheroes but a man of flesh and blood. He is completely human with a full range of emotions, prone to sadness during failures and happiness during success. He has both his weakness and strength.

Today, we see in contemporary families, that both mother and father share nearly equal responsibilities equally owing to a nuclear family situation, good education, and financial status. Besides the biological dependencies, a child today looks up to both their parents as unconditional providers of their needs.

But, healthy parenting can only be possible with the mutually reciprocate actions of both mother and father.

Both the parents play a healthy role in the healthy child-rearing

Now, let me cite two real-life stories which will allow you to feel…. What is a Father to a child.?

The year 2020 is the beginning of the first phase of LOCK-DOWN due to the deadly COVID -19.

The whole world came to a standstill.

I don’t have to elaborate on the condition we all passed.

In February 2020, my brother-in-law had to undergo an emergency spinal operation in Mumbai. The doctors have prescribed him one month of bed rest and then a review. But he got trapped in the sudden COVID lockdown.

His 3 months pregnant wife and a two and half-year-old baby girl were residing in Dubai awaiting his return.

It became very difficult for the pregnant mother to take care of her other baby child all by herself.

Every moment, they somehow managed to pacify the little child through video calling.

The process was going on indefinitely.

She constantly demanded her father to come out of the video call.

Slowly, she stopped reacting to her father’s call, avoided him, and just gave out vague looks.

It became challenging for them to cope with this situation.

The father’s lie “I am coming soon darling” was not at all helping.

Three months passed this way.

The child stopped playing, and eating, and started keeping low. The baby had everything to play with except her dear father.

In the meantime, due to severe mental pressure, the mother delivered a premature baby which made the situation grimmer.

Finally, in June 2020, the father managed to fly back home.

At first, the child took time to get along with him. Afterward, she demanded always to be in his lap. Maybe she feared he might vanish again.

Hope I can create the feeling of what a father means to a child.

The next story is of my addicted brother and his innocent daughter.

By nature, my brother was a cool, very jolly, and loving person.

But faith had something else in the store, he fell into the trap of addiction after marriage. We took up every means to help him out.

His bonding with his daughter was exceptionally different.

Every time he was sent to rehab his daughter would not leave him. We make her understand that her father is weak so he will stay with the doctor's uncle. Then only she was able to settle down.

Those days when she is without her father she will not talk properly, eat nicely, and keep saying, “my papa will come soon”.

You can’t imagine her happiness and brightness whenever he is back with her.

She will freely talk, eat, play and stay happy.

Thankfully he is back to normal.

It is all because of his great bonding with his daughter. Me, my parents, his wife, and my family all lost hope in him. His daughter was the only one who confidently loved him and kept unshakable faith in him.

For her, he was the only confidence, strength, and source of energy to live life.

Above are two stories of two little infants, who could not say their feelings but made us feel what a father is to them.

A father is the sentiment of a child. If your father is with you you always have a feeling of confidence.

Both mother and father are the most powerful and sensitive feelings of a child.

It is a subtle bond that every child and a father feels deeply.
